Printable: Valentine's Day Fortune Cookies

Valentine's Day is a mere 25 days away, and I decided to kick off the countdown with a fun Friday printable for you!  This is something I tried last year, and it turned out SO cute that I wanted to recreate it - and even cuter this time around. ;)

Fortune cookies are a favorite of many, with or without a chinese buffet to precede it.  Last year, while searching for inexpensive, yet thoughtful gifts for my one and only, I came across a neat little trick for personalizing fortune cookies.  The best part?  It takes under a minute!  Below are a few adorable printable fortunes for you to cut out and use for your Valentine's Day gift, along with instructions on how to make your cute little cookies look like you had them professionally made.  Trust me, your other half will find it truly ingenious of you!

Instructions for Fortune Cookies:

1. You will need a box of pre-made fortune cookies.  I used La Choy brand, and they worked fabulously.

2. Moisten a paper towel, just so it's slightly damp.  Wrap a fortune cookie in the damp paper towel, and microwave on a plate for about 15 seconds.  The time can vary depending on your microwave, so you may need to practice on a few at first.  Start with 10 seconds, and increase the time until you find the magic number.

3. As soon as it's finished in the microwave, quickly take it out (careful, it may be hot) and unwrap the paper towel.  The fortune cookie should be slightly moist.  Open up the cookie while still hot, just enough to pull out the original fortune and tuck yours inside.

4. Before it hardens, use your fingers to fold the fortune cookie back into it's initial shape.  Allow to cool and harden before packaging.

Ta da!  You've just recreated your first fortune cookie.  So easy, right?  Complete this process, one cookie at a time, until you've filled them all.  Make it even cuter by bundling them in a little transparent bag tied with a ribbon and tag.  How could anyone resist something so precious??
